Early Spring Brings Changes — And More Great News!
Today was downright balmy, about 3 degrees and spring has been fresh in our minds! Since we heard Mike’s good news, we have been “on vacation”, so to speak. We have spent the day enjoying each other’s company and exploring our fair city. We have enjoyed our favorite celebratory treat — cupcakes! — and a delicious meal of three cheese Manicotti. In fact, our whole menu plan went right out the window, for the most part! And tomorrow, Michael and I intend to go on our first date in nearly nine months…without Naomi. I will keep you updated on it next week.
But Mike isn’t the only person with something to celebrate! Naomi and I both had new opportunities to celebrate this week.
Well, in Naomi’s case, celebration might be the wrong choice of words. The past few nights, she has been awakening much more frequently and crying, and nursing steadily throughout the night. Throughout the day she is happy and cheerful, but drooling heavily. After a bit of inspection, we identified the source of her bedtime discomfort — two tiny teeth buds poking their way through her gums. So we headed to our local natural parenting store and purchased an amber teething necklace for her. Between it, cool veggies, and facecloths to gnaw on, and early bedtimes, we plan to make it through without any drugs or medications.
And me? Well, I have very exciting news — I have been selected to be a monthly contributing writer on one of my favorite blogs, Frugal Granola. Because I want to explore new foods and recipes, I have elected to do a monthly post called Farmer’s Market Find in which I explore a new fruit or vegetable and give a new recipe. Stay tuned for my first post in the near future!
And with all that, I have decided to make some changes to miniMOMist. In the coming weeks, you will see more pictures, changes to the site colors and layout and an increase in posts.
I am very excited to begin this process and cannot wait to get started! Stay tuned!
Is there any changes you’d like to see at miniMOMist? Do you have any fruits and/or veggies you wanted to learn more about? I’d love to hear from you! Leave a comment! Tell me what you think!
